This Privacy Policy applies to the Folomi mobile application (“Application”, “Folomi”) created by Aleksandr Kovalchuk (“Service Provider”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and offered as a Freemium service. The Application is provided “AS IS”.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

When you download and use the Application, we collect:

  • Device and usage data — your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, the screens of the Application you visit, the time and date of your visits, the time spent in the Application, and the operating system of your mobile device.
  • Location data — with your permission, the Application collects your device's location (GPS coordinates) to show nearby points of interest.
  • Account data — your email address, name, a user identifier (userId), and a device identifier.

We use this information to:

  • Provide core features such as nearby points of interest, audio guides, walking tours, and location-based recommendations.
  • Operate your account, including sign-in and subscription management.
  • Analyze usage, diagnose crashes, and improve the performance and functionality of the Application.
  • Send you important service notices and, where permitted, marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Artificial Intelligence

The Application uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to generate audio guide content, tour text, and recommendations. To do this, a limited set of data (such as a place identifier and your selected language) is processed by third-party AI service providers hosted on Microsoft Azure. We do not send your name, email address, or precise location to these AI providers for content generation. The AI service provider used by the Application is:

Third-Party Services

The Application uses third-party services that collect and process data under their own privacy policies. The information shared with these services is limited to:

  • a user identifier and a device identifier;
  • your IP address, which is inherent to any network connection;
  • usage and diagnostic events, such as screen views, in-app actions, and crash reports;
  • approximate location coordinates, shared with the map provider solely to render the map and the places near you.

We do not share your name or email address with our analytics, crash-reporting, or subscription providers — that information is stored only on our own servers. Sign-in providers process your account information directly when you choose to authenticate with them.

We may also disclose the information we collect:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • to trusted service providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to this Privacy Policy.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Location — you can enable or disable location access at any time in your device settings, without uninstalling the Application.
  • Account deletion — you can permanently delete your account and associated data directly in the Application: open Profile → Delete account. This removes your profile, listening history, leaderboard data, and downloaded content.
  • Data requests — you may also contact us at [email protected] to access, correct, or delete the personal data you have provided. We will respond within a reasonable time.
  • Marketing — you may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Stopping collection — you can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the Application using the standard uninstall process for your device.

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have additional rights over your personal data, including the rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Data Retention

We retain the data you provide for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable period afterwards. When you delete your account, we delete the associated personal data, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain.

Children

The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it from our servers. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
